The Global Wind Tunnel Symposium (GWTS) represents a unique annual ‘community’ 2 –day event which brings together a global cross sectional attendance of wind tunnel facilities, government agencies, global customer groups, technology suppliers and scientific organisations , into one international forum - for the interchange of ideas & the sharing of challenges & achievements in wind tunnel testing.

Launched in 2008 & crossing the application boundaries of subsonic, transonic, supersonic, through to future hypersonic requirements, GWTS provides a platform for the sharing of knowledge, experiences & challenges, to provide all stakeholder groups unique intelligence & insight to draw on , to assist in aerodynamic developmental or facility management plans against the backdrop of current and future air, land and sea high-speed transportation systems.

In its strategic content, GWTS assesses future requirements for aerodynamics, aeroacoustic and aeroelastic ground testing for the next 20 years – reaching into the following sectors:

• Civil and military airframes - fixed and rotary wing
• Propulsion and power-plants
• UAV/UCAV/ Micro UAVs
• Launch and space vehicles
• Airborne defense/missiles systems
